Industry news and events.
CAPS Tutored Tastings calendar. Join us for themed tastings that are educational and enjoyable. Non-members may attend at a cost of $10. per tasting. Also, tastings will be held featuring managing principals from wineries around the world. Check the web for updates to the schedule.
2. The Best Ontario Sommelier Competition. We are planning a competition for the Best Ontario Sommelier – 2010 this year. This and subsequent competitions
provide members with the opportunity to display their knowledge and skill in a competitive environment. It also provides an opportunity to represent Ontario in the National competition.
3. Professional Development and Training:
CAPS Certified Sommelier Program
Our first graduates were from the 2005/06 year, and we have had successful graduates each year since then. The program is growing in reputation nationally, as evidenced by requests to deliver it in other provinces.
Professional Development Programs
Professional development and educational seminars are being planned. Stay tuned for a request to participate in a survey to identify your development needs. This survey will be used to design programming.

Not-for-profit associations thrive on volunteer support. There are many opportunities for Committee and Board involvement.
Committees: If you wish to join a committee, please check out the Committee structure on the website and contact the appropriate Board contact.
Board of Directors: The Board is actively seeking nominations to the Board of Directors for the 2010/11 year. Please go to the website to download a nomination form if you have interest or would like to nominate someone.
Volunteer at Industry Events
CAPS often receives notices of industry and community fundraising events that require volunteers. These are posted on the Members Area only, and provide great networking opportunities and another chance to make a contribution and profile our profession.
