About BOSC 2026
About the Best Ontario Sommelier Competition 2026
The Best Ontario Sommelier Competition (BOSC) is Ontario's premier sommelier competition, hosted by the Ontario chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS). Held annually, BOSC follows the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI) competition format, challenging top sommeliers through rigorous theory, blind tasting, technical service, and hospitality exercises.
The day unfolds in two parts, beginning with the competition's theory and practical examinations, where sommeliers are tested on their knowledge, technical skill, and hospitality expertise. The event then moves into an evening gala featuring a sponsor walk-around tasting, silent auction, and live championship finals, culminating in the awards presentation.Â
